Stress, emotion, social support and heart disease

This work is concerned with the nature and effects of stress and emotion. A current major focus is on anger and social support and their roles in coronary heart disease.

Psychosocial aspects of HIV and AIDS

This work is concerned with several areas including attitudes and beliefs about HIV and AIDS and behavioural risk for HIV.

Illness cognition and behaviour

George's work in this area has been concerned with how lay people understand physical illness and the implications for how they respond to illness in themselves and others.

Emotional Regulation

This work concerns the strategies people use to regulate their emotions; the physchological and physiological implications.
